Detectives Investigating Murder of Coalinga Teenager

Coalinga, California - Detectives are currently investigating the tragic murder of a 16-year-old boy in Coalinga. The incident took place on Tuesday, April 16th, at around 9:20 pm on the 200 block of E. Houston Street.

According to reports, the Coalinga Police responded to a call about shots fired and discovered the teenager with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Coalinga Regional Medical Center, the young victim succumbed to his injuries.

In response to this homicide, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has been called in to lead the investigation. Homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Unit from the Sheriff’s Office have been deployed to Coalinga to collect evidence and interview potential witnesses.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was targeted and potentially gang-related. Authorities believe that the perpetrator specifically targeted a residence on E. Houston Street, firing multiple rounds that tragically struck the teenager.

The suspect's mode of arrival and escape remain unclear, with law enforcement urging anyone with surveillance cameras in the vicinity of Houston, Louisiana, and Barker Streets to come forward with any footage that could aid in the investigation.
